Public Policy - Seattle, Washington, United States
The Washington State Catholic Conference (WSCC) represents and is the common voice of all the Roman Catholic Bishops of the State of Washington on issues of federal and state legislation and public policy for the issues that affect the bishops, Catholics, and in some cases, all persons in the State of Washington. Our mission is rooted in the Catholic community's belief in the inviolate dignity of the human person, its tradition of service to the most vulnerable of society, and its firm commitment to a just and peaceful world. The WSCC continues to work for the common good and to create a society that recognizes the dignity and worth of every human person by advocating for human life, economic justice, education, social justice, and religious freedom in accord with the Gospel mandates, Catholic social teaching, and the teachings of the Catholic Church. The state is comprised of three dioceses: Archdiocese of Seattle, Diocese of Spokane and the Diocese of Yakima. The WSCC offices are located in Seattle and the State Capitol is in Olympia.
