The Washington State Historical Society (WSHS) serves a statewide audience, and operates the Washington State History Museum and the State Historical Research Center (both in Tacoma).We are responsible for collecting, preserving, and making accessible materials that represent our history; partnering with varied organizations, agencies and communities statewide; and encouraging the heritage activities of others. We engage audiences statewide by presenting innovative educational opportunities including exhibits, programs, publications, and online curricula and digital resources that make Washington's history relevant for today's audiences. WSHS makes its extensive collection of historic artifacts, ephemera, photos and special collections accessible through its online collections database.
