Waterford Chamber Skillnet, established in 2001, is one of 65 nationwide enterprise-led Training Networks that come under the umbrella of Skillnet Ireland (established in 1999 and funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills), which supports over 18,000 companies and 70,000 trainees across the country.Member companies actively participate in determining their own training needs and how, when and where training will be facilitated. Programmes are optimised to suit the needs of employed learners, through both formal and informal learning that spans further education and higher education provision. We foster cohesive and collaborative enterprise networking and provide a flexibility and nimbleness to respond to ever-changing skill demands, as well as allowing companies to achieve economies of scale and significant efficiencies in the provision of training to their staff. We also facilitate a number of employment activation programmes that have a clear focus on areas where skills deficits have been highlighted by member companies and/or national and sectoral skills policies. It is FREE to join Waterford Chamber Skillnet.
