Civic & Social Organization - Paris, Île-de-France, France
The WATIZAT association campaigns for access to information for people in exile and publishes a multilingual guide (French, English, Arabic and Pashto) which has been updated and printed every month since March 2018.It aims to inform people in exile by giving them access to clear information on the asylum procedure, as well as addresses and useful daily life advice. The guide is updated every month to give accurate as possible information in a context in which the law, the reception system and associations are constantly evolving.WATIZAT is part of a network of associations and organizations operating everyday in the field. Its aim is to help connect these resource actors with exiled people. Its work is to publicize these actions, and to promote them by listing them by territory.Because we are concerned with the living situation imposed upon people in exile and asylum seekers in France today, we advocate, alongwith other field actors, for welcoming policies that respect peoples' dignity and fundamental rights. The vicious circle of dismantling camps keeps forcing exiled people to the fringes of cities. French law is becoming tougher, and the situation more and more precarious for Dublined people. Women, men and children are being expulsed vers des pays tels que l'Érythrée, le Soudan et l'Afghanistan et d'autres pays dans lesquels leurs vies sont en danger.Because we believe that access to information is essential for defending ones' rights and for getting off the streets, we continue to train volunteers and to improve the way we distribute the guide.
