Hospitality - Haleiwa, Hawaii, United States
We believe the way to explore Oahu is not from a boring Waikiki hotel room with hard-to-find-parking and 45-60 minutes of traffic any direction you want to go on the island, instead it's about experiencing the magic of the island "like a local" with all of the accoutrements of a camper van equipped with all the fun stuff. In 2019, we moved our entire family from Chicagoland to the island of Oahu without knowing a single person in on the island + having not even visited! We took a chance. We took a risk. We did our homework. We chose to redesign our lifestyle.Jason Rosser, our production manager, has struggled with Bipolar Disorder I for years, which includes severe fluctuations in mood due to SAD (seasonal affective disorder), but we noticed how he thrived in tropical, sunny, warm weather. Why not change our climate for good? Why not get 12 good months - instead of hoping for a good 5-6 months of weather in the Midwest. The relocation transformed our lives... and Jason's mental health! So, we got to thinking... how could we help others who wanted to experience the real Hawai'i (not the tourist brochures!) to get a taste of how we live life. And, da idea of #WeBeVanning was born! Let's build a van that people can use to...* work remotely - from anywhere, in nature* get the best parking spots at the local beaches* escape the tourist traps* connect with their friends and family on a deeper level* go camping, since they can't bring their own vans here...even experience Hawai'i to determine if they'd want to move here somedayWe're passionate about helping others redesign their lifestyles, disengage from the busy-ness of traditional mainlander life, and reconnect with the ocean.
