We Met IRL is a relationship building organization that hosts speed dating events, mixers, and lectures, with an emphasis on minorities and people of color. Our mission is to create environments that encourage romantic or platonic connections offline, and we do this by facilitating safe spaces for meaningful conversations, social interactions, and good times!Because of the isolation imposed by the pandemic, more and more people have expressed their wish to meet people in real life. WMiRL is a reaction to this!Since February we've successfully produced several speed dating events for people of color, and have received lots of support online. Our video recaps have gone viral on TikTok twice, with over 50K views on each video. We've also gained a following of over 2,000 users on Instagram in three months, and have been featured in The New York Times. Follow us on Instagram for more information on attending our next event!
