We Perceive is a 501c3 national organization serving children with visual impairments ages birth through 22 years, which promotes a fully accessible world through three main areas of focus including audio description, inclusive play, and assistive technology for the blind. Our goals are to ensure these children are able to interact and participate in all parts of their environment including home, school and in the community, while raising awareness of their needs to the industries which serve children as well as the general public. We believe awareness is the key to understanding, empathy and respect. Many solutions currently exist to provide these children with access to movies, museums, toys and learning - parts of daily life every child needs and deserves. A fully accessible world is possible. Our board consists of parents, professionals, and supporters who are active in the blindness community and their local communities but want to make an impact at a national level, too.
