Internet - Diemen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
As a spin-off of Planet Internet Holding, a company The New Planet (TNP) was born, with several european ISPs as its customers. When KPN Multimedia was about to sell TNP to the South-African Datasoft, the company was renamed to Data Software Solutions. During the negatiations for this deal, the development team took on a greenfield project, that led to a security solution called Regedoc. When the deal with Datasoft bounced, an MBO led to the final name of the company: Wellance. Regedoc was its flagship product, but security was not a big concern in those days. In 2002 the bubble bursted, unfortunately.
