- Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana
The project is aimed at providing a sustainable solution to the problem of food wastage. Food gets lost or wasted throughout the supply chain and our work so far has been on tackling wastage at production. We have begun by focusing on Akumadan, a farming community in the Ashanti region, who suffer great losses on their farm(mainly, tomatoes). The farmers do not get value for their investments and find it hard to cater for their families and additionally, contribute to the cycle of food wastage in Ghana. The community in itself is one that requires development and that the lives of its members be improved economically as well as socially. Our goal, ultimately, is to advance economic growth across the community, make great impact on the environment and empower people to enable progress in the community as a whole.
