West Africa Network of Election Observers (WANEO) is a non-profit, non-partisan, and independent democracy think-tank dedicated to promoting and consolidating democracy, good governance, and credible elections for sustainable development, peace, and stability in West African and Beyond. West Africa Network of Election Observers (WANEO), since its establishment in September 2019 as a regional think-tank advancing the cause of democracy, good governance and credible elections has undertaken three (3) different research works in the priority areas of voter Apathy, Electoral Violence and Transparency in Election Administration and Management in West Africa. WANEO as a democracy think-tank is principally established to help advance sustainable democracy, good governance, and credible elections across the 15 Member Countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Indeed, WANEO strongly believes that genuine democracy, good governance, transparency, and accountability in election management and administration towards credible elections, are the pivots of sustainable development, peace and stability in West Africa, and for that matter, the African continent as a whole. It is, therefore, an indisputable fact that the sustainability of democracy and good governance in West Africa hinges on the cardinal indicators of credible and peaceful elections that reflect the will of the people in the democratization process. Hence, the prominent need for all public and private stakeholders in the democratic governance and development process of West Africa to fully support and cooperate with all relevant stakeholders, public and private institutions and agencies across West Africa to promote and sustain the cause of democracy, good governance and credible elections for sustainable development, peace and stability for the present and future generations of Wet Africa and the African continent as a whole.
