The Western Holmes County Fire District (WHCFD) is a full-spectrum life safety agency proudly protecting more than five thousand people who live, work and play in America's Amish Country. The men and women of your Western Holmes County Fire District are dedicated to your safety, and honored to fulfill their pledge to serve with courage, integrity and pride. Every year across Western Holmes County, the WHCFD responds to emergencies, with department ambulances transporting more than 300 people to area hospitals. The WHCFD 63 uniformed fire and EMS personnel protect life, property and the environment through their direct involvement in fire prevention, firefighting, emergency medical care, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, disaster response, public education and community service. A total of 34 uniformed firefighters, including 20 serving as Firefighter/EMT's, and 9 EMT's, are always on duty to cover the districts 84 square-mile jurisdiction.
