From humble beginnings in 1946, meeting in a small Army Chapel, growth into a 2,500 member family of faith has been a journey of unwavering faith for Westside Baptist Church. Started in 1946, with just 73 members, the congregation grew quickly, and in 1947 an Army Chapel was purchased for $1,500 from Camp Murphy, and moved to Orange Avenue in Fort Pierce.The late 1980's and early '90's brought tremendous growth to Westside. Under Dr. Dale Ingersoll's leadership, the church moved to South Jenkins Road in 1991.Today, the Westside family has completed a truly ground-breaking addition with a new 64,843 square-foot, 1,740 seat sanctuary.Over the last 62 years, Westside has shared many challenges and blessings, faithfully spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout our community.Celebrating the past and moving forward by faith, Westside Baptist Church is built on a foundation of transforming lives, strengthening families, and sharing in the burdens, sorrows and great joys of life. This is the foundation that makes members of Westside "Forever Family."Westside Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Florida Baptist Convention and the Treasure Coast Baptist Association.
