Westwind Farms Inc., founded in 2013, is a 160 acre almond farm in Woodland, California, located in Yolo County, utilizing top of the line technology within the agriculture industry and a commitment to environmentally conscience farming. We understand the many challenges the agriculture industry faces in California. We acknowledge that precious natural resources are not only limited but also extremely important for the continued agricultural practices that feed our state, country and the world.We take advantage of the technology available for scheduling irrigation and use best practices to make decisions with the least impact to the environment. Not only do we think of the best ways to conserve water, but we have also added to renewable energy movement by constructing an 82.4kW photovoltaic panel system, which helps capture an unlimited source of energy. Our solar panels help conserve 85% of electrical use on the farm which we believe is an important part of lowering natural resource consumption.Westwind Farms Inc., considers honey bees and their health as a valuable natural resource. In order to preserve this natural resource, we make sure that any pesticide used is the least invasive for honey bees and other natural pollinators.
