Whakaaro Factory are a creative agency that specialises in Indigenous Design and Digital Communication.Te Ao Maori, Tikanga Māori and Tikanga Marae underpin our core design value system. Established in 2013, we draw on our values and traditions being brought up on the Marae, through Kohanga Reo and Kura Kaupapa Māori under the principals of the Te Atiawa, Raukawa, Toa Rangatira experimental programme of tribal development known as Whakatupuranga Rua Mano to influence our design concepts throughout all phases of creation. We pride ourselves on our ability to walk confidently between Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Pākeha, Te Ao Matihiko with the goal to protect our culture in the digital space here in Aotearoa and abroad. We are a one stop shop creative agency that bridges the gap between traditional Māori concepts and ideas, and modern day society. That pretty much means that we use our knowledge in both our upbringing in the Māori world, and combine our understanding and experiences in a modern day society to create content for our clients.
