Stichting What The Fiets? is a non-profit bike workshop on de Uithof, designed to educate and provide a workspace to repair bicycles. Additionally, What the Fiets? recycles used and abandoned bikes, sells second-hand bikes, and rents them.The services offered go in-hand with the motto: Repair, Educate, & Recycle. Repairing your bike at a fraction of the cost is possible at What The Fiets?. A subscription offers access to an indoor space, complete with tools and supplies, as well as knowledgeable volunteers. The volunteers at WTF both teach repair skills and offer advice. Regularly hosted educational workshops allow students and staff to learn how to do simple repairs, like patching a flat tire or chain maintenance. Staff are also open to suggestions for new, useful topics for future workshops!Recycling used, orphaned, and abandoned bicycles is at the core of our mission to support sustainable transport around campus. Therefore, we offer the opportunity for students and staff to donate their old bikes when they leave Utrecht and those which were dumped in their sheds years ago. By repairing and selling these bicycles we aim to offer inexpensive second-hand bicycles to incoming students and promote a culture of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
