English is the language of business, travel, entertainment and online education. It's the language of opportunity. In Brazil, people who speak English get paid 61% more. But only 5% of the population can communicate in English. And a mere 1% consider themselves fluent.Projeto What's Up teaches basic English over WhatsApp to people from poor communities all over Brazil. In partnership with charities from all over the country and with the help of over 50 volunteers, we have reached 2,000 students since 2020. But that's not enough. We want every Brazilian, no matter where they come from, to understand that learning English isn't just for those who can afford it.What's Up. Transformative education for all.
