Wheatland Farm was founded in 1999 by Mark and Muriel Forrest. Wheatland's mission is to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities, as well as families who have children with disabilities. Having three of their eight children affected by a disability, they know the scarcity of programs and services for families like theirs. In 2017 they were named a USEF / USPEA Para-dressage Center of Excellence, just the fourth center to receive this accreditation nationwide. Wheatland Farm is a PATH International member therapeutic riding and equine-assisted activities and therapies program. Wheatland is also a fully inclusive traditional English riding program; it provides adaptive and traditional aquatics, an adaptive hair salon, a wheelchair lending and detailing program and numerous fun outdoor activities, such as Fishing and beautiful walking paths. All programs are designed to include siblings and typically developing children in an all-inclusive environment, and are provided by The Faith & Family Foundation at Wheatland Farm year-round.
