White Wing School is a non-profit, non-sectarian, preschool and kindergarten that has been delighting children and their parents since 1959. Founded by local parents who recognized the importance of early childhood education, we offer a developmentally based curriculum, designed to provide children with hands-on activities to help promote their social, emotional, physical, creative and cognitive growth. Our NAEYC accredited programs serve students ages 2 through 6 across Southern New Hampshire, including Nashua, Hudson, Hollis, Merrimack, and surrounding towns. White Wing is proud of the thousands of young people we've taught over the years. Whether they stayed close to home to become mayor of Nashua or traveled the world, their journeys began here. In some families we have educated three generations of students. In addition, our small group of dedicated teachers—several are White Wing parents and grandparents themselves—has over 85 years of experience teaching with us. We're proud to have earned that kind of loyalty and dedication. We believe the best way to prepare children for elementary school and life is to provide a "hands-on" approach of discovery and experimentation. This type of activity promotes a keen interest in learning and lays the foundation for more abstract learning in later years. Activities are carefully selected to promote the needs of the whole child. Because activities are open-ended and success oriented, they facilitate growth for every ability level and more importantly, foster a positive self-image and an inquisitive mind. We know that a positive preschool experience sets the stage for success. We believe a welcoming atmosphere filled with encouraging voices helps children feel safe and secure. We understand that each child is different and our small class sizes allow us to appreciate what makes each student unique. Finally, we recognize the value of play and know that's how children learn to love learning.
