Whitestone Family Fitness Festival encompasses a 73 k cycle around the famous Bunny Trail, as well as kayaking a portion of Whitestone lake. this year we have added a 5 k and 10 k walk/run. The date this year is July 18th with the ride starting at 10.30 am and other events running throughout the afternoon.This year's bike ride will be starting and finishing at the Municipal Beach in the Village of Dunchurch. The ride will be a somewhat challenging 73 km course, circling Whitestone Lake and encompassing the famous Bunny Trail. The ride will be guided by several volunteers on each corner and at water stations, as well as a protected by OPP at both ends of the ride. Each rider will be outfitted with an ankle bracelet for timing results, which will allow for riders to more comfortably complete the ride. There will be sag wagons available for problem bikes and riders.Paddle for a Cure is an annual event to raise much needed funds dedicated to research and equipment for treatments. Our 5th annual Paddle for a Cure will be benefiting the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation in Parry Sound. Participants will paddle the watercraft of their choice (canoe, kayak, etc.) on a preset course on beautiful Whitestone Lake. Paddlers are asked to provide their own watercraft. We have a limited number of canoes and kayaks available to those who do not own one. Contact event organizers to reserve on a first come, first serve basis. Please bring your own lifejackets.Participants are invited to join in the other festivities on their return.
