Performing Arts - Shaftesbury, England, United Kingdom
We are a theatre company and collective for emerging artists specialising in creating and facilitating Anglo-Japanese collaborative theatre and other ambitious interdisciplinary adaptation projects in the UK and Japan. We use puppetry, movement and projection art to make theatre that encourages diversity and new audiences; aiming to make work that challenges stereotypes both in the UK and Japan and that helps truly reflect multicultural, multiethnic, modern Britain on the UK stage. In 2013, we staged the world's first theatrical adaptation of Princess Mononoke with the kind permission of Studio Ghibli and 2015- 2017 our work was supported by The Daiwa Anglo Japanese foundation via the Daiwa Scholarship. This unique experience has taught us the great potential of Anglo-Japanese collaboration and adaptations of sources such as Manga and Anime in promoting diversity, BAME talent and new audience development in theatre. We are currently in pursuit of this potential.
