Wholesome Generation (WG), a Texas domestic non-profit corporation, was organized to provide an innovate, solution-focused youth education and community outreach model with whole health and quality plant-based food as its nucleus.OUR VISIONTo support healthy living in the Austin Community for all while cultivating the appreciation, nourishment and stewardship of the land for Generations to come.OUR GOALSFruit and Vegetable Intake: 60% of youth do not meet daily recommendations for fruit intake. 93% of youth do not meet the recommendations for vegetable intake. WG's initiatives and community outreach programs target youth and their families to enable them to take a proactive role in their health by sustainably growing, preparing and enjoying fresh organic produce daily.INCREASE AFFORDABILITY AND ACCESS TO HEALTHY, LOCALLY GROWN ORGANIC FOODSThrough Community Outreach initiatives, WG successfully teaches youth and their families how to build a garden, create healthy meals on a budget, inspires children to increase physical activity levels and connect to nature by offering enriching outdoor learning experiences.WG has recently moved to a 5+ acre campus, where a new community initiative is being developed to expand the reach and direct impact on the health of Austin's community. Projects include an educational farm and gardens, bee keeping, mobile culinary classroom and Environmental Stewardship Ecology programs.CREATE OUR NEXT GENERATION OF HUMANITARIAN AND SOLUTIONARISTS:Our wholesome programs are taught in a Reggio Emilia STEAM-focused, and multi-lingual setting to encourage students and our community to create cross-cultural relationships and grow the model organically. We aim to build the environmental and health stewards of tomorrow through a focus on connecting youth to physical activity in nature and the impact of food on health.
