WhyKnott Advertising has successfully served the SouthernPA/Northern Maryland area with creative, resourceful marketing and design for 38 years. The company began as Lois Knott Advertising in 1971, occupying the lower level of Lois and Ron Knott's home in New Oxford, PA. In 1996 the growing firm moved its headquarters to Hanover, PA, where it remains today.In 2007 the company name changed to WhyKnott Advertising. The foremost reason for the name change is that the company is no longer a "one-woman" enterprise, but now-a-days involves graphic and web designers, copywriters, event planners and media buyers as well. The other reason evolved from the weekly planning meetings. When discussing marketing strategies, ad headlines, copy possibilities and design, the words "Why not?" were a common occurrence.Since Lois's name is Knott and she wanted a name change, WhyKnott seemed the perfect solution. We've had many favorable comments and chuckles about the new name. So many, in fact, that it has been made the basis of our email addresses as well.
