Whyte Labs is pioneering a unique approach to robotics and STEM education, teaching young children how to build, wire and program their own walking, balancing, spider-like robots, completely from scratch. This builds on the founders' years of award-winning work, developing a variety of cutting-edge robots, from humanoids to snake robots, both in Singapore and Switzerland. Through this we hope to offer a fundamentally more creative, interdisciplinary and DIY approach for children to not only learn about and enjoy robotics, but also apply the (otherwise dry) physics, math and biology they learn at school.Every child is unique, and we believe that creative autonomy and personalized guidance are key to effective learning. Combining our cutting-edge hardware platforms with a unique pedagogy that draws on decades of education experiments, we are aiming to not just conduct our own workshops in Singapore today, but to also bring this learning experience to students around the globe. Our founders Aditya Kapoor and Jeremy Koh themselves began experimenting with bio-inspired robots back when they were at University. While they faced a steep learning curve in the early days, having to teach themselves about biology, electronics, robotics and so on, it was this foundational experience that put them on the path to exploring their own unique ideas, on a global stage. They went on to build one of the World's most advanced bio-inspired soft robots, to aid in disaster-response missions. Deeply passionate about demystifying robotics and science, they are now out to share their years of experience, to help young tinkerers unleash their own creativity.
