Wicked Tea & More has been a concept in the mind of owner Ian Devine for over 15 years. In 2004 Ian spontaneously agreed to go on a trip to China with a friend. While in Yangshuo he had his first cup of jasmine green tea. It was love at first sip! Tea quickly became the focus of the trip for Ian.As they explored China, Ian noticed many shops had a short table where patrons could drink tea. After accepting one of these invitations a shopkeeper served Ian his first cup of Ti Guan Yin (Iron Goddess) tea. With that, Ian's love for Chinese tea quickly turned into an obsession. He sought out a proper tea shop to learn more. The tea master showed Ian the world of Pu'er and Oolong teas. Specifically, rock oolong and ginseng oolong. Each new tea was more amazing than the last.Ian spent a slightly shocking but not unreasonable (to any tea head) amount of money in that tea shop. He bought as much tea as his luggage could carry. The patient shopkeeper taught Ian the traditional gongfu method of brewing tea. He made sure Ian had everything he needed to enjoy his new stash of tea once he arrived back in the USA.Through tea, Ian fell in love with China and the culture and the laid-back lifestyle. He has been back almost every year since that first visit. Each trip, Ian makes sure to go and sit with the tea shop owner that opened his eyes to the world of Chinese teas. He is always happy to sit for hours and drink tea with Ian.
