My name is Avi. I'm the Founder of Wild Mantle. It all started years ago, when I made a hooded-scarf from remnants of beloved old sweaters. It felt cozy and warm, and when I put it on, I noticed I felt a quiet sense of courage and completeness.When I wore it out into the world, people noticed, and they'd ask "What is that? I want one!" I heard the same thing from each person who tried it on: "it feels like a hug." and "I feel like a warrior."We call it the mantle, and before I knew it, I was making them for lots of other people.The word "mantle" not only means a loose fitting hood or cloak, it also means your role or responsibility in the world. Wild Mantle contains my personal alchemy of sustainability, empowerment and adventure. It's an invitation to take up this ethos in your own life, to think about what mantles you carry, and how you can become more empowered in your role in the world. After demand exceeded my capacity to have the mantles made, I started working with local artisans to have the mantles made right here in the USA. I consciously curate the most sustainable materials I can find to create this warm and soft garment that turns whatever you're wearing into a hoodie. I've discovered, that to those who acquire and wear it, the MANTLE symbolizes the epic journey of life. A walk to work. A chase after a little one. Or an expedition to a distant land. It's always with you. And over time, it becomes a reservoir of memories.Wild Mantle is an invitation to you, to your friends, to your co-workers and co-conspirators, take up your mantle: build your community, live your truth. accomplish your mission, change the world.
