William Osler Capital is a value based hedge fund. We will identify and purchase a diversified portfolio of securities trading at a risk-adjusted discount to its intrinsic value. Each individual company or asset will be assessed as if the hedge fund were the fractional owner/operators of that company or asset. When the market value of that security significantly exceeds the estimated intrinsic value such that there is no longer a margin of safety remaining, it will be prudently divested and the cash will be held until another opportunity with an attractive risk to reward ratio presents itself.William Osler Capital is named after Sir William Osler, a Canadian physician, considered one of the fathers of modern medicine. Dr. Osler brought medicine into the 20th century by implementing a medical residency program and pioneered the practice of bedside teaching. Drs. Porayko and Wingnean co-founded William Osler Capital and regard Sir William Osler as a hero and guiding force.
