Willow Oak serves approximately 14,000 children, youth, and adults each year. Each year, approximately 14,000 children, youth, and adults participate in classes in the visual and performing arts, folk and culinary arts, expressive arts, and the humanities. Visual arts include oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, drawing, pottery, photography, and calligraphy. The performing arts are music, theater, and dance. Our music program includes a chorale, children's chorus, and individual music lessons. Workshops are given in acting and auditioning. (Partnering with Shalom Movement, dance workshops are offered.) Folk arts classes are spinning wool, weaving, knitting, and sewing, and blacksmithing & soap making. Classes in the culinary arts are offered to children and adults, beginner to intermediate levels. The expressive arts offer opportunities for personal growth using the arts. Humanities classes include writing and literature, languages, history, and philosophy. Because we turn no one away, scholarships are given to any child or adult who asks for financial assistance. We believe the arts should be accessible to everyone.
