At Willowwind School, learning is accomplished through membership in a community. Classes are multi-age and students and teachers work together to form cross-grade partnerships in a caring, purposeful community of learners. Mission -Curiosity and a love for learning -Self-esteem combined with social consciousness, emotional sensitivity and respect for others, -The ability to think flexibly and critically, problem solve and express oneself clearly and constructively, -Self discipline and acquisition of academic skills and creative pursuits, -An appreciation and respect for other cultures and the natural world. Company Overview Imagine a classroom where children are engaged in animated discussions, where cross-age groups work together to create a science project, where partners interview each other for a writing assignment, where learning takes place outside the building as well as inside. All of this and more happens at Willowwind School both in our Montessori-style preschool classrooms as well as in our kindergarten through sixth grade classrooms.
