An accredited Installation Masters Instructor is required to have the minimum required experience and attend a week long knowledge base training in the fenestration industry. Training included demonstrating all the approved types of proper installation of both exterior windows and doors. Demonstrate proper communication skills through classroom style and power point teaching methods while incorporating videos and illustration of tools like a white board or chalk board. Accreditation is awarded once all the above has been completed along with a 90% or better score on the exam. Instructors are responsible to gather all necessary registration paperwork copies of personal identification and set up the facility to hold classes. Instructors are required to adhere to the strict practices of proctoring the exam needed in order for installers to receive their accreditation provided they pass with a 70% or better. Instructors are required to teach a minimum of two classes a year and must renew their accreditation each year. Instructors do not get paid by AAMA they are independent representatives and set their own class participation fees.
