WinterLogic is an electronic design automation (EDA) company that develops software used by semiconductor companies for the design and development of their most advanced integrated circuits (IC) and systems on a chip (Soc). With expertise in high-speed fault simulators and fault management environments for Verilog designs, WinterLogic's unique technologies dramatically improve fault simulation performance. WinterLogic's ZOIX is widely recognized as the leading fault simulator on the market. At least twelve of the top twenty semiconductor companies use WinterLogic Z01X.WinterLogic was founded in 2005 by three EDA industry veterans for the purpose of maintaining, developing and supporting fault simulation technology. In the 1990s, an engineering group from ZYCAD, who provided a hardware accelerator for fault simulation, began work on a software version of their compiler. Soon they created a spinoff company called Provis to commercialize the new technology, and ZOIX was commercially launched by Provis in 2000. By 2005 Provis was running out of venture capital money. Three of its employees acquired the company's assets in an employee buyout and founded WinterLogic.Today WinterLogic is a privately owned company controlled by its employees. It uses no venture capital and has been profitable since its inception. All profits are reinvested in research and development projects, product improvement, and effective customer support. The company is growing at a steady pace.WinterLogic has grown from three founders to a team of nineteen. It retains a strong engineering focus with very little administrative overhead: thirteen software engineers, two support engineers, one documentation specialist, two technical sales specialists, and one manager.
