Wirtschaftsregion Südwest GmbH is the economic development association of the districts of Lörrach and Waldshut. We promote sustainable development in our region so that it can evolve into a competitive business location, provide support to local companies and boost both the prominence and image of the economic region.\\Wirtschaftsregion Südwest GmbH was initially founded in 1996 as Wirtschaftsregion Dreiländereck des Landkreises Lörrach (Tri-border Economic Region of the District of Lörrach). In 2000 the District of Waldshut joined the association and it was renamed Wirtschaftsförderung Dreiländereck-Hochrhein (Economic Development Association of the Tri-border/Upper Rhein Region). In 2005 it was then renamed Wirtschaftsregion Südwest GmbH (Southwestern Economic Region Ltd.).
