The University of Wisconsin-Madison's premier co-ed Bollywood fusion dance team, Surma, meaning "essence and beauty of the eye", is a nationally competitive dance group that values excellence and responsibility both on and off the stage. Our goal is to maintain a sense of South Asian pride on campus, while improving our dancers' skills and creating lifelong friendships. We bring students from all levels of experience to perform a routine consisting of a variety of dance genres including Contemporary, Hip Hop, Bhangra, Bollywood, and Indian Classical.
