Canadians are not receiving proper financial advice from the large institutions in charge of providing this service. Due to lack of regulatory oversight, financial institutions employ sales professionals - who likely do not have a fiduciary duty to their clients - rather than the best advisers. This has led to Canadians paying some of the highest management fees in the world in low quality investment products. I want to use this blog to shed light onto this issue and educate the general public on how to invest, where to invest, and what to invest in to both simplify their financial lives, as well as help them achieve their long-term financial goals.
