Wisen (www.wisenworkshops.com) is building informal learning networks between neighbors. Our work is based on the beliefs that 1) within a few degrees of connection, we have access to an immense amount of information, and 2) our best social networks are based on learning. Wisen workshops include 10-15 participants and one host, set in a local home or cafe. Our first 20 workshops were sold out, and our next set of workshops start May, 2016! Examples include: -Food & Culture workshops (i.e. The Art of Cheese, Indian Cooking, Basic Salsa Dancing)-Ideas discussions (i.e. The Future of Public Media, Diversity in Tech)-Professional & Science knowledge-shares (i.e. Social Media and the Brain, Basics of Financial Investing)-Local History (i.e. History of San Francisco Jazz, Architecture of San Francisco, Local Birding)
