Research shows that one in two adults are socially isolated in the U.S. and that isolation leads to serious health, mental health and economic challenges. WISER is a cutting-edge, nonprofit organization in the Washington DC metropolitan area that builds inclusive communities and reduces social isolation. We build inclusive communities by investing in grassroots leaders. We offer free leadership training and coaching to community leaders who promote diversity, inclusion and equity. We partner with civic and social organizations, schools, professional associations, faith groups and other organizations who share our commitment to inclusion, so that everyone has a place to belong and a chance to develop his/her/their gifts.
