Walter is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with 20 years' experience in mining/geotechnical engineering. He has worked as an underground miner,underground mining engineer, consultant geotechnical engineer, site and project geotechnical engineer.He has considerable experience in operational site support, geotechnical risk management, site investigations, geotechnical design, numerical modelling and project management.Walter also holds a PhD in mining/geotechnical engineering from the University of Wollongong in the field of subsidence mechanics and longwall mining effects on river valleys.Capabilities and experience cover both coal and metalliferous operations.Services include:- Site investigations from Concept and Scoping Level Studies to operational mines- Operational site support, including geotechnical design reviews, site inspections and secondments- Geotechnical hazard mapping and monitoring- Geotechnical model development, including rock mass characterisation and domain modelling- Slope stability analysis of excavations and waste dumps- Development of Principal Hazard Management Plans and TARPs- Geotechnical advice for Life of Asset and Mine Closure Planning- Geotechnical training for all site personnel- Technical reviews, due diligence and studies
