Improving the quality of life for women and girls in Waukesha CountyThe Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County seeks to aid and enrich the lives of women and girls so they ultimately become thriving residents of their communities. Established in 2004, the Women and Girls Fund (WGF) is a permanent endowment within the Waukesha County Community Foundation.Each year, the WGF awards grants to support projects and programs that promote the welfare, independence and self-sufficiency of women and girls of all ages. Areas of interest include leadership, education, job training, housing assistance, transportation, overcoming substance abuse, mental health restoration, financial literacy, physical health and safety, and strengthening families.IMPROVING THE ODDS ... ONE GRANT AT A TIMEResearch shows women and girls still face challenges in reaching their full potential. Barriers continue to divert women from securing better futures for themselves and their children. For too many, the frustrations of just attaining basic needs as they relate to women's health, housing, nutrition, education, transportation and safety are overwhelming.WOMEN OF DISTINCTION AWARDS LUNCHEONThe annual event honors the extraordinary accomplishments and leadership of women in Waukesha County. The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County is proud to recognize the talents, skills and accomplishments of our honorees, whose efforts have improved the quality of life in our community. The proceeds from the luncheon and from our endowment fund investments will help us continue our efforts in Waukesha County.Give Today
