Women On Psychedelics is an volunteer-led educational platform that highlights the voices of women who are experts, enthusiasts, or advocates in the field of psychedelics. We open this space to host more self-reflexive conversations on how intersectionality impacts psychedelic research and subculture and to provide education for those who are looking to learn more about the use of these compoundsCharacterizing most societies today, patriarchy refers to the oppression and marginalization that women undergo as women in societies where power is mostly detained by men.The psychedelic movement - although a movement where people are "awake" - is no different from that. People of color and women* are still underrepresented in research, amongst participants, and in the movement for legalization/decriminalization.Throughout history, women have been society's healers. The roles of "medicine women" in various civilizations are an example of that. Women's voices are also a potential means to dismantle unequal distribution of power manifested in a form of high levels of violence, poverty, environmental degradation, and human suffering. The current psychedelic movement is still very privileged and not everyone has access to these medicines or will when they become legalized. It's important to prioritize social justice work and to create safe spaces for marginalized people, women, LGBTQIA+, and survivors of trauma and violence. We believe in psychedelics as tools for women's healing, self-liberation, and empowerment. And we believe that these tools can also be used to undo "social programming" imposed by the patriarchy. We are gladly open to contributions from men, as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community, who share our values and support of our mission/vision.*women of all racial, cultural, gender identities and sexual orientation including but not limited to QueerLesbianBiTransInter
