Women On The Move Network has existed for the last 16 years with the sole purpose of making vital and meaningful steps towards the emergence of a peaceful society through action-oriented programs of community service, which help to improve the status of women and girls in our communities. Through mentoring ,coaching, recreation and cultural activities , we empower girls to develop self-confidence, to make positive choices, healthy decisions, and explore ideas while having fun. Our after school programs, called Who‘s Your Hero, are free of charge, but like in anything else, there is cost involved in running them. The cost is $300 per girl per school year. We also have monthly Women‘s empowerment workshops designed to inspire, educate, teach life skills to women of all walks of life. Over the years we have seen powerful impact of the programs on the participants as well as their mentors. Girls who come out of the programs, strive towards continuing their education, develop understanding of meaning of nobility, respect and integrity, resolving conflict peacefully. And most importantly the programs teach our girls to become their own heroes. Some of our most successful programs are in a residential facility for troubled girls, and in middle school in a low-income community.
