Twenty-five years ago, nine compassionate women leaders created an endowment to address the needs of women and girls in our region and founded the Women's Foundation of Genesee Valley.Today, we've given more than $1.7 million to hundreds of programs that have the highest likelihood of providing a direct, positive impact on the economic status of women and girls in our region. Beyond our grantmaking, we've grown our Girls' Initiative and After-School Literacy programs, serving more than 600 teen girls in 2019.In celebration of our 25th year, we've refreshed our identity and website. Our new logo, the peony flower, symbolizes prosperity, compassion, honor, and abundance. Similar to the peony, the women and girls who benefit from our programs are able to access opportunities and develop the skills they need to lift themselves up and blossom into their full potential. The work of the Women's Foundation, to combat the impact of poverty and foster economic self-sufficiency for women in our region, continues with all of us.
