WORD exists to serve North Texas writers and writing organizations. Our mission is to connect writers with the resources they need to reach their goals, and to support local writing organizations. We do that by promoting their activities, facilitating multi-group partnerships, and hosting innovative, inclusive 'big-tent' events. Ultimately, WORD strives to cement the Dallas–Fort Worth area's reputation as a nationally-recognized haven of the arts — by cultivating a more diverse, successful, and united North Texas literary community.
