The Working Group on Children Recruited by Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups is the only non-profit organization world-wide exclusively dedicated to children affected by terrorism. Originally established in the context of CoNGO Committee to the United Nations, the CRTG Working Group was founded following the need to address violent extremism through tailored approaches and to implement comprehensive strategies to prevent violence against children. Our vision is a world in which the recruitment of children by terrorist groups is prevented and every child victim of terrorist exploitation receive rehabilitation and reintegration support that is essential to rebuild a dignified life. Our mission is to protect children from terrorist trafficking and to inspire a long-lasting change in the way in which child victims of terrorist violence are treated.In collaboration with a global network of professionals, practitioners and partner organizations, the CRTG Working Group: • Develops rigorous, evidence-based research to inform the development of programs preventing and responding to violence against children• Advocates respect for the dignity and rights of child victims of recruitment and those in contact with the justice system • Leverages its expertise and unique position to provide advisory and assistance to governments, international organizations and civil society• Builds bridges across the public, non-profit and private sector and fosters strong multi-stakeholder partnerships to enhance efforts and synergies in the rehabilitation and social reintegration of children recruited by terrorist actors
