World Arts Access is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2010 and headquartered in Seattle, WA, with additional offices in London and Sana'a, Yemen. Our staff have been working since the mid-1980s helping youth in ambitious social change efforts, including sexual abuse prevention in South Korea and Panama, theater projects in Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Pakistan, and radio dramas in Pakistan and Yemen.World Arts Access' mission is to engage youth in the arts to create lasting social transformation. Our work focuses on the 1.2 billion young people ages 15-24 on the planet who constitute the largest global cohort in history. Many of these young people are not engaged in employment, education or training, and are therefore lacking meaning and purpose in their lives, as well as being more susceptible to depression, anxiety, hopelessness, cynicism, and delinquency. World Arts Access uses the arts as a proven method to increase youth self-esteem, creativity, leadership skills, empathy, and activism. Our projects empower youth to be agents of social change and peace in their communities.
