World Arts Platform Details
World Arts Platform is an arts development programme for artists from a linguistic, cultural or ethnic minority living, working or studying in Hertfordshire. Its mission is to promote knowledge sharing, networking and financial independence for individual artists and arts companies by providing business training, fundraising support, mentoring and incubating innovative projects that celebrates and promotes the arts of diverse communities and artists to a wider audience. WAP was established in 2008 to address the lack of information and awareness about culturally diverse arts activity taking place in some parts of Hertfordshire, to support and develop a range of culturally diverse arts practitioners and arts practice, and for local authorities to prioritise greater community understanding and cohesion, allied to an appreciation of the role the arts can play in creating cohesion and tolerance amongst Hertfordshire's burgeoning diverse communities.
