Nonprofit Organization Management - San Ramon, California, United States
The World Initiative for Science & Healthcare (WISH), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, through its EndHIVNow initiative brings HIV/AIDS testing, prevention, counseling and care to remote, rural poor and disadvantaged populations in Africa where the majority of people with HIV live and more than half don't know they have the disease. We partner with local NGOs who are deeply rooted in their communities and are leaders in the frontline battle against HIV / AIDS. We supply them with all-terrain vehicles outfitted as mobile clinics and train them to use our test kits and computer data collection systems to help drive response. We work with them to progressively cultivate more healthcare services, such as malaria prevention, within the communities we serve; literally driving healthcare infrastructure and services to people who can't reach traditional health care facilities. Our proposition is built on recognizing that the best way to provide remote, rural and disadvantaged poor populations with the healthcare they need is to bring it to them where they live and then support them in cultivating it within their communities.
