Our function is generating research, disseminating information, and forming collaborative partnerships that increase awareness about the practice of water trading and support establishing water markets worldwide. We believe our innovative research supports the only solution that guarantees a HYDROSUSTAINABILE future for our planet. Our ChallengeHeightened resource scarcity and drought makes it more difficult for farmers and irrigators to borrow money, secure mortgages, obtain insurance, and sell or lease water rights. However, wide-scale use of water trading has yet to materialize, primarily due to complex legal, political and social barriers associated with implementation. Our ImpactIn practice, WWI is a think tank built on 40 years of published research from thought leaders in academia, business, and government.
