Celebrating my wanderlust and love of painting, every item I create by hand, tells a story. From my fascination with hexagons, my love of travel, the sea, starry skies and the sheer joy of painting, comes my collection of hand dyed or hand painted clothing and accessories. I see my pieces as not bound by time, rather as timeless pieces to be worn forever. I teach Japanese Shibori at the Textile Arts Center at their Brooklyn and Manhattan locations and have taught workshops at organizations such as the Japan Society. Shibori is a Japanese shaped-resist dye process. To produce the unique designs, the cloth is shaped and then secured in various ways before dyeing. The design, pattern making, light sewing, Shibori, hand dyeing and hand painting is done in Brooklyn, while I employ a sample and production maker in the New York City garment district. I have gone through great lengths and expense to keep my line, from creation through production, locally based. All materials are sourced from the USA when possible. This is my effort to offer clothes and accessories designed with a handcrafted element while also supporting jobs and small businesses in the NYC garment district and across the USA.
