XiteLabs (http:www.XiteLabs.com) is the dynamic collaboration between iconic visual artist Vello Virkhaus and renowned content creator Greg Russell. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Vello has crafted a niche in the entertainment world by establishing himself as one of the early and current pioneers in the art of live performance visuals, interactive, custom programmed experiences - always pushing the boundaries of available technologies and creative to new heights. Vello has produced some of the most successful and well-known immersive concert visuals and 3D projection mapped experiences, including Amon Tobin's ISAM, Blizzcon Starcraft events, NBC Heroes, The Skrillex Cell, The Krewella Volcano, Infected Mushroom Tours, The Datsik Vortex and many more. Greg possesses dual degrees in Neuroscience and Music from Colgate University. His background in brain sciences and myriad musical styles contribute heavily to his creative works. Notable amongst the hundreds of large-scale entertainment projects completed under his direction include designs for the progressive band Rush's live shows, concert visuals for Tame Impala, and large-format event content for GE, Microsoft, Verizon and Disney. An accomplished drummer and musician, Greg has written music for main titles and feature employs a mastery of rhythmic and harmonic integration into all of his visual show design work.The team at XiteLabs redefines immersive experiences with an ethos that combines the ultra-experimental with the practical. In studio and on the road, Xite artists and technicians merge diverse talents to design bespoke LED sculptures, create breathtaking animation, program and design custom software, operate live shows, and make award-winning animation come to life.
