The name Yafe Be'ito, in Hebrew "יפה בעתו" is derived from the verse in Ecclesiastes 3:11: "Everything, he has created nice in its time" - "את הכל עשה יפה בעתו". And thus we believe this name to be fitting a foundation made to spread the Tora of Hakham Faur after his passing - although the Hakham is no longer with us in this world, the time is Yafe-nice for his Tora to light up the world more than ever! The word Yafe is also the acronym of Hakham Faur's name which he used this way in several places when signing his name: יוסף פאור הלוי. The main focus of Yafe Be'ito is to spread the immense Tora of Hakham José Faur in the most efficient way possible. The Tora of Hakahm Faur is that of the traditional Sepharadi sages throughout the generations, such as Rasag, R. Yehuda Halevy, R. Abraham Ibn Dau'd, R. Shemuel Hanagid, R. Shelomo Ibn Gebirol, and last but very much not least: Harambam. The earmark of this Tora is that it integrates general disciplines of knowledge and understanding of "real life," alongside a fully traditional view and understanding of the Torah based on the Talmud as understood by the Geonim and Harambam. The Tora of Hakham Faur understands: "The urgency for education and critical thinking in Judaism" (Horizontal Society, Prologue pg. xix). Our aim at Yafe Be'ito is to allow this Tora to gently seep into all walks of life in Judaism. Whether an academic scholar or a Rabbi, observant or non-observant, everyone is truly welcome to Yafe Be'ito to study Tora. In addition to uploading hundreds of classes of Hakham Faur on all subjects, Yafe Beito is focused primarily on publishing and republishing all of the works of Hakham Faur so they can be accessed by the general public.
