Photography - New York, New York, United States
Yana Bannikova is a Russian born photographer and graphic designer. She is currently enrolled in the B.F.A. Photography program at Parsons The New School For Design. Bannikova already has over 5 years of professional photography and design experience, which includes working with Allen Projects gallery, photographer Andrea Blanch, musician Alexander Markov, Carnegie Hall and more. Yana Bannikova's reason for entering the art field stems from her childhood hobby and passion in photography and design - which she will remain devoted to for the rest of her life. As a young girl Yana spent hours in front of the computer screen playing, changing, and altering people's faces. Back then it was a child's game, though as an adult, digital photo manipulation has become her main form of creative expression. What Bannikova creates through the viewfinder is her perception of reality. Her photography is a reaction to the natural beauty of people and environment. Her images reflect her personal connection between the natural world and the art of interpretation. Yana Bannikova currently lives and works in New York City.
